Mere puppets of the Invisible Hand, huh?  And who invented the Invisible Hand?

Isn't this a long story of the transformation of Europe from the feudal system to the early modern era, and then the "industrial revolution" (forcible enclosure, etc.)....

This is a job for someone like Fernand Braudel!
