MessageAt least they're not killing each other.  I've just read a piece on the 
development of a mine in El Salvador.  You get in the way there, and you can 
wind up in a ditch with your head cut off.  I believe things are more civilized 
in Australia.  Or are they?

  The interesting thing with this one has to be the demonstration of the power 
of the mining/business lobby in Aus... I don't know the back story but it looks 
like Rudd was "disappeared" in a matter of days (from when the rumours started 
to when he was gone--maybe 48 hours) and then the first thing that Gillard does 
is rescind the mining bosses supertax... Hmmmm...

    Julia Gillard, who last week replaced Kevin Rudd as Australian prime 
minister, may move to slow Australia's population growth amid concerns about
