Sorry chum you better do some reading up about the Highland Clearances of the Gaelic speaking clans and the actual practices of the clan Lairds who betrayed their people for a handful of English gold. Sure some people lucked out with a bit of money to stake a claim, a lot became travellers itinerently finding agricultural work seasonally around Britain (we've got a traveller settlement site less than 3km from us here!) but a LOT were forcibly removed and forced into indentured labour to "pay for their passage" to the new world. _______________________________________________ Futurework mailing list [email protected] https://lists.uwaterloo.ca/mailman/listinfo/futurework
