Thanks for this quote, Malcolm. I don't think the popular uprisings in the Middle East are due to opposition to the guaranteeing of "proper functioning" of the markets, but to rampant economic, legal, foreign affairs, foreign dominance, and governmental corruption.
How things will end up on the "neoliberal" spectrum will probably vary considerably country to country, though no one seems to be enamored of socialism.
