Yeah, and I have not even a vague idea of the extent of that practice.
My father-in-law did that with considerable success, never paying off
a mortgage. He could always get better return on his investments than
the rate of his current mortgage. But then, he was atypical because
he was the financial manager of a college and thus more than average
knowledgeable in finance. And he got out that racket by moving to a
retirement home before the dot-com bust.
