I was going through my mail, clearing out old posts, reading through those with linked content that I don't pursue immediately, and so came on this one from a couple of weeks ago. The comment field, sorted by most recent, had been filled with bilious venom from a right wing hack, and comments were closed, so I wondered how much support this probably paid minion really had. There was a "most popular" button to re-order the comments, and when I hit it, I saw a reassuringly sane set of comments with ten times the support the misanthrope had scored. What struck me, though, was reading the #3 post, with +93 votes, which contained the following paragraph: "Revolutions are started by lean and hungry people. America has not reached that point yet, but perhaps with the price of food rising and the return of all of those soldiers once the wars end, there will be a fighting force in place to finally level the playing field." So I guess the notion of reaction to the demolition of their country by its self-serving elite is beginning to surface after all. -Pete _______________________________________________ Futurework mailing list [email protected] https://lists.uwaterloo.ca/mailman/listinfo/futurework
