This goes back to my belief that Canada (the fed's and prov. gov'ts)
should be promoting and investing in self-sufficiency - not encouraging
foreign investment for low to no cost loans and special tax deferrals
or waivers. Foreign investment takes capitol out of the country.
Stabilize everything with self-sufficiency and then look beyond the
borders. All these 'trade talks' are doing is raping the land of raw
resources. This insane desire for profits to increase by 20 (or X) %
/every/ year will just continue to spiral out of control placing
communities and societies at risk.
So, an eastern route to reduce foreign oil consumption is one step in
the right direction.
