Interesting.

Gambling casinos (or at least those that I studied, e.g Mohegan Sun in
Connecticut, and the Ute Casino in Utah) play a loud multi-frequency drone as
ambient noise. And of course they have the fake sound of slot machines paying
off.

When I work, I usually play music, which I completely forget or "don't hear"
once I am settled into deep work mode. The music varies from hard rock to new
age, depending on my initial mood. The loudness is low enough that it doesn't
demand attention.

Cheers,
Lawry
