Ah yes. Political economy. The rise of the Unktena, the great horned serpent to do battle with the Anihiyvtaquatloski (Climate Change). It's happened before in the myths. The West just believes in the present and their puny couple of thousand years.

Where else can they be? Do you think the West should go backwards? If so, where should they stop? Would they be able to stop? If you were Tasmanians or Patagonians in the 19th century, you had lost so many former skills that you could make no more clothes with a bone needle or sleep otherwise than in a scrape in the ground.

Virtu-osity. Not much of that present and this idiot will end up being hung from a light pole on rock creek parkway. I've never heard such horse shit in my whole life. What do you think the West is arming for?

He makes some valid points but balance is required in societal sharing and pooling of risk in my opinion. Given massive overpopulation of the earth and a shrinking natural 'pie' (unsustainable by techno-optimism!!), everyone's slice will be increasingly challenged going forward. The opting for a vain attempt at redistribution to support corp. and bankster bailouts while flooding the labor force with new immigration, failing to educate the young the past several generations, and squeezing the elderly who paid into the system and saved... will not solve anything. It is too late. The purging of excesses will be both nasty and sad in my opinion.
