All children learn the skills of deception by the age of two, so the
child psychologists tell us. Also complementary skills must develop.
Females must be able to develop skills in assessing the honesty of
males when making statements about their economic potential.
Ambitious males must also be able to try and soss out any political
conspiracies secretly ranged against them.
I think corruption is a permanent activity in man's affairs. It can
be at very low levels during the early days of a new institution in
which all its members are benefiting, but will inevitably creep in
sooner or later as competition and/or numbers become greater.

Canada and Pegging Property Values
Some of Canada's most prominent mayors are coming under fire for
corruption. Is it just a coincidence, or is corruption more
prominent in Canadian politics than we had believed? And, finding
yourself house-rich? The head of MPAC - the Municipal Property
Assessment Corporation - tells Steve Paikin how property values are
assessed in Ontario.
Debate: Corruption, Canadian Style
After more than a decade of scandals and inquiries at the municipal,
provincial and federal levels, corruption allegations keep on
coming. The Agenda asks: does Canada have a bigger corruption
problem than we think?
Guests:
Guy Giorno, Fmr. Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Canada
Ian Greene, Professor, School of Public Policy and Administration,
York University
Tom Marshall, Director, Transparency International
Don Jack, Partner, Aird & Berlis LLP
1X1: Antoni Wisniowski: Assessing MPAC
Every four years, taxpayers in Ontario get that dreaded envelope
from MPAC, often a harbinger of the tax bill to come. MPAC President
Antoni Wisniowski tells Steve Paikin about MPAC's mandate and how it
assesses the province's property values.
