New York City has had specialty schools in almost everything for many generations. Often they go to specialty schools and are exceptionally trained and then move on to other training and jobs. Fine Arts training is especially valued since people in the Arts are comfortable with change and relativity and the thought process taught in, for example, The LaGuardia High School of the Arts and Performing Arts connected with Lincoln Center, is a staging area for many professions including finance. My daughter was a theater major, went on to major in English and Management at Emerson in Boston and is now a producer for one of the TV networks. It all started with the intense Stanislavski training at LaGuardia. The discipline prepared to go anywhere.
