Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto the private sector that which is the private sector's?
The function of separation and articulation boundaries is the conceptual foundation of Social Domains as in the individual's life, the body is the Foundation of all human activity i.e. the "Dance of Life". The key is knowing the purpose and intent of the Foundational sectors of civilization (corpus) and how they should talk to each other and what the rules are. A Government under a Democracy is you and me and everyone else. "Sedition" is a governmental disease and when another sector tries to take over governing it becomes a tumor on the body, like a bad leg or hand i.e. seditious. It seems to me that we all forget George Lakoff's observation that all Social Domains are "embodied" i.e. from the image and knowledge of the body. Today we are in chaos as we find that the "hand," (the energy of the toolmaker and is represented by Economics in the Social Domains) has become disconnected and now wanders around like the monster in the old Oliver Stone movie "The Hand." The model for this is of course the body cells that begin to take off on their own and reproduce uncontrollably for their own benefit eventually killing the whole. Sound familiar? The big C or the incurable except with severe poisons or radiation. Conservatives think that means austerity while progressives realize that it can only be cured with compassion and competence in all of the Social Domains. That's why Glen Gould loved living in the freedom of Canada but his life was sucked out of him by it while his life's meaning and traditions live on from a simple two week tour of the Socialist state of what is now Russia. What a pity that we are condemned to be either/or and thus become inhuman and incapable of balance.
