I had the occasion to watch Mr. Obama the other night at a press conference after his visit in Sweden… The first question he was asked was concerning the NSA/Snowden revelations. It was about the saddest thing I've ever watched on TV… Obama was clearly lying through his teeth, he knew he was lying and that in the next days his lies would be soundly revealed and he knew that anyone informed on these subjects at all would know that he was lying and that in doing this he would be forefeiting forever any legacy or even legitimacy he would have as President; but still for whatever reason (and that too is something to be thinking about) he went on…
There is I think a real possibility that the Syria is meant as a diversion from the real crisis in the US at the moment which has to do with the crisis of legitimacy/trustworthiness of the Internet and the hopes/plan/expectations for global dominance which have gone with this and which seem in the process of going up in smoke. http://www.propublica.org/article/the-nsas-secret-campaign-to-crack-undermine-internet-encryption http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/sep/05/government-betrayed-internet-nsa-spying http://gurstein.wordpress.com/2013/09/04/the-internet-global-governance-and-the-surveillance-state-in-a-post-snowden-world-the-internet-is-not-your-friend-get-over-it/ http://tinyurl.com/khja796 M
