If only it were so. :-) In a city of ca. 250,000, there were 5 high schools: Classical, Technical, Commerce, Trade and the Roman Catholic Cathedral. Mine was Classical, from which it was expected that the largest number of VIPs would emerge: scholars, executives, scientists and, yes, people-running-the-country . I didn't attend my 50th (!) reunion but I submitted a bio so I received the CD with all the bios of people who'd bothered to submit them. Alas, none of my classmates have been running the country. Several became tenured professors, many have had successful careers in art, theatre, business, law, technology, the military and the church. Several have had lives to varying degrees eccentric, eclectic or both. Not one reported having become a senator, a governor or even a respectable wardheeler. But on reflection, what is scary is that people running the country are those who were, statistically, inferior to we'uns from the best school in town. - Mike -- Michael Spencer Nova Scotia, Canada .~. /V\ mspen...@tallships.ca /( )\ http://home.tallships.ca/mspencer/ ^^-^^ _______________________________________________ Futurework mailing list Futurework@lists.uwaterloo.ca https://lists.uwaterloo.ca/mailman/listinfo/futurework
