OTOH, the ongoing merger-mania leads to large corporations getting bigger
and bigger -- with many corporations being larger than nation-states already.
Where do these 2 trends leave the middle-sized companies ? Decreasing into
insignificance, like the "middle-class" ? Perhaps the prediction is true
that sometimes soon there will be only global corporations and (literally)
local mini-companies left, but no regional/national companies anymore.
I don't think this bodes well for people's self-actualization, equality,
cooperation and a participatory democracy -- quite on the contrary:
A society of sociopaths.
