I have solved Keith's puzzle. Keith confused 2 US national parks:
The super-volcano is in Yellowstone, not Yosemite ! (1,000 km away)
So technically he was indeed "perpetrating a hoax". ;-9
Keith, don't take it so personally. Mistakes (of fact or of belief)
can happen -- it doesn't mean that we doubt your truthfulness.
WRT the pertinence to Kyoto: As I said, potential doom from volcanoes
cannot justify a laizzez-faire climate policy. We don't smoke 30
cigarettes per day just because a car may kill us tomorrow. So the
super-volcano is beside the point, no matter whether it's in Yosemite
or Yellowstone.
