There probably were few differences between how they behaved thousands of years ago and in the period prior to WWI. Speaking personally, I've always been very curious about our remote ancestors - who they were, how they lived, where they came from, etc. You and I and, God knows, even Keith Hudson with his morning pot of tea, are probably very distant cousins.
