"Portentous" wasn't the right word.
Taut- and sometimes also Taunt-ological is at least as good.
The rich/powerful specify the
premises, and the poor/powerless implement the conclusions.
The other thing I like about "The 90% which is uninhabitable

the almost infinite malleability of the poor/powerless. They
can adapt to almost anything,
We'll see how many of us the new global economy will reduce
to that more docile state where we will do just about
anything because we don't have anything left. How high
will the sea level of cheap labor rise in the economic melt-down?
Will it submerge middle management in the currently so-called
First World countries?
