I have had this sense too, about the economists and the issue of globalization. Perhaps it is because globalization may be more about other facets of our lives than economics and income. My own sense is that the greatest impacts (and not necessarily good ones) will come in the form of systems integration and domination, and a consequent loss of individual freedom and social diversity.
