Good question. I am approaching an age at which I can contemplate with greater equanimity the prospect of a universal settling of accounts.
In one of my favorite books, Hermann Broch's _The Sleepwalkers_, there is an accounting clerk who is determined to balance the moral books. What he succeeds in doing is causing the most constructive person in the book [a genuinely enlightened businessman] to commit suicide. I don't have an answer, but I do think the problem is very complex, and maybe that's a first step in dealing with it. I am currently watching D.W.Griffith's film "Birth of a Nation" (I'm about 2/3 thru it, so I have no idea how it ends...). It seems to address similar issues. I think I will write no more so as not to dig myself into a deeper hole.... \brad mccormick [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > What about the United States, Canada and existing aboriginal populations?? > > -----Original Message----- > From: Brad McCormick, Ed.D.
