The net is that the U.S. military held a huge
"war game", and "the enemy" beat them bad --
using techniques of asymmetrical warfare like
sending communications via code words
inserted into muezzins' calls to prayer.
Initially, "the enemy": was only denied things
like setting off bombs in the USA and
using chemical or biological warfare agents.
In the end, the enemy had to reveal some of
its troop locations so "we" could find them.
This makes the "set up" SDI tests look
less unrealistic.
Kristof's conclusion:
Hubris kills.
