The link is to a commercial computer-techie website
review of Kevin Mitnick's new book which tells IT managers
how to protect themselves against hackers. Mitnick is
a hacker who was convicted of felony charges and spent almost
5 yrs in prison for it.

The net:

But in this case the hacking is less about technical
wizardry. Mitnick's particular gift is taking advantage of
human gullibility through what he calls "social engineering".
"Cracking the human firewall is often easy, requires no
investment beyond the cost of a phone call, and
     invloves minimal risk," Mitnick writes.

My guess is that if George W Bush succeeds in stripping
all the employees of the Homeland Security Dept (formerly:
CIA, FBI, etc.) of all their workplace rights (in the
name of defending something called "freedom", of course!),
that will probably
not contribute to strengthening the weakest link: what
Mitnick calls "the human firewall" -- esp. the lower
GS grades, outsourced workers, etc.
