Hi Harry,
If I promise to not call you an old codger do you promise to not call me
honey?
Similar to Brad, I've been thinking about a way to get you to leave the
'way of theory' and enter the real world. My proposal is for you to
apply your ideas to the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". I'm assuming most
FWers have seen it and I think it should allow you to show us your
theory in action.
"The only thing you take with you is what you give away."
trivia question: where does this quote occur in the movie?
Take care,
Brian
I don't think I've seen _It's a wonderful life_....
There is a French film from 1990(?) I keep recommending,
which may be about the same topic. It is the story of
a man who does all the right things, and, by working
both very hard and reasonably smart, rises to
become a manager, but he gets crushed
in a corporate merger (he hangs himself): Roadkill
on the Interstate (I-666?) to the new global economy....
Mon Oncle d'Amerique (Alain Resnais)
Many Blockbusters have this on VHS.
But, please, Harry, don't talk about fiction,
talk about reality and how you would change my life
and the lives of other middle- and working- class
Americans.
