Ray! You are the first person who has raised this question of 'telling the whole truth' publicly, a question that has perplexed me for years. I have imagined being in the position of having to say such an oath, and turning to the judge, and saying,
"But your honor, who will decide what the whole truth is? Lawyers who want to express some evidence and suppress some other evidence? You, the judge, who does not know the evidence that might be presented? Or I, the witness, who is called upon for the whole truth?" For better or worse, the opportunity has not presented itself, but I'm ready... Cheers, Lawry > (I don't even swear on the book anymore in the courtroom simply because no > one truly is allowed to tell the "whole" truth as required in the oath. > An oath that is administered by secular mechanics of that manual in the > first place. Even they don't believe it.) > _______________________________________________ Futurework mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://scribe.uwaterloo.ca/mailman/listinfo/futurework
