We wonder about Iraqi scientists not wanting to meet with UN WMD inspectors without an Iraqi official being present.  A very long time ago during the cold war, when I was a very junior functionary, I met with a guy from the Russian embassy who was interested in how the Canadian north compared with the Russian north - living conditions, etc.  I had absolutely no military secrets to give him and to this day I don't think he was after any.  Nevertheless all Hell descended upon me from great hights for not having had another functionary present.

I remember when they did the same thing during Vietnam.    Because we all had Top Secret Security Clearances they made us sign documents that said that we would keep our mouths shut or we wouldn't be allowed to leave the Army.   Obviously, someone hasn't done that.
