Last night, Scott Ritter, former United Nations (U.N.) chief weapons inspector, spoke about the current war with Iraq to a packed audience in the Statler Auditorium.

[snip]"It is too late for stopping the war, but we can change the government that got us into this war," Ritter said. "It is a dereliction of duty for us to not oppose this with all of our strength if this war is not justified."
(1) America is going to occupy Iraq, not liberate Iraq.
(2) Saddam Hussein seems to be a real monster.
(3) But America is behaving monstrously beyond
anything previously imaginable. In Vietnam,
at least we had the "Arvin" fighting with us.I said it yesterday, and the more I think about it, the more appealing it sounds: A military coup to overthrow the Bush "administration" and get the American Armed Forces out of this grossly misguided war of obsession. Take Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney prisoner and declare martial law.
Congress could impeach Bush and stop the war. (Unlikely)
The 2004 election could bring somebody "normal" into the White House, who would stop the war. (Unlikely but could theoretically happen if the Democrats get their act together)
"This thing" could "get out of hand", too, and bring about a "world at war" in a form never seen before.
