For those who feel that they have choice as to their religion I invite them to visit the PBS web site below which shows the way in which some US GI prisoners of war were treated. Treated in a way just because they were Jewish. Atheist. Agnostic. Not to matter.
Here is a case where once the GIs (who looked Jewish) were away from the laws and protection of the US Constitution and fell into German hands, well they were just juden and meant to be treated thusly.
