As you have probably read, Dubya is encouraging the protesters in Iran.
How can one fail to recall the Shiite uprising which we encouraged in Southern Iraq after Gulf War I, and then we didn't provide any support to them and Saddam Hussein punished them?
Does anyone remember if we similarly ~encouraged~ the Hungarian freedom fighters in 1956(?) or the East Germans in 1953(?)?
Promise them anything, but don't deliver (people
