Why don't composers get themselves exemptions
from military service and big government subsidies
like the ultraorthodox in Israel?  They need to
make everyone *afraid* to cross them!  There is
a precedent.

I don't know anything about music composition, but
I suspect it may not be all that different "formally"
from Talmudic exegesis (I forget the exact word here).
