I seem to have read
The United States worked very hard after WWII to keep the
communists from coming to power democratically in
Italy.  We didn't want to take any chances there or
in many other places around the world.  I think
France was "in danger", too.

The Western "democracies" have always preferred
fascists to "The Red Menace".  Who really believes
the Western democracies would have gone to
war with Germany or Japan had they ONLY
attacked The Soviet Union?  Damn!  Hitler
didn't understand, did he?
