Russian mother whose son is interned at Guantanamo begs that her son not be repatriated because the Russian jails are so bad.
"I am terribly scared of a Russian prison or Russian
> court for my son," Amina Khasanova was quoted as > saying by Gazeta newspaper on Friday.
"At Guantanamo they treat him humanely,
> the conditions are fine." [snip]
"I think that there is not even a health resort
> in Russia on the level of this place," > the letter said.
Of course the mother is probably wrong about the last point, since now Russia has not only commissars but also billionaires. Russia's president's name says it all: "Putain"! (that's about the limit of my knowledge of French...)
I really think America should be ashamed of how we have behaved toward the Russian people, and I also believe that *these chickens* may yet come home to roost in the form of Russian antibiotic-resistent tuberculosis taking up residence in the New York subway and other places "over here".
