This may be of interest in the oil supply discussion. Although it is on the "Car
Free" website, there was no rampant anti-car rhetoric to be found in the article. It
came to me by way of Pednet, a pedestrian advocacy list.

Issue #32 of Carfree Times is now available at:

    http://www.carfree.com/cft/i032.html

The theme of this issue is Blood, Oil & Money. We examine both the
coming structural shortage (i.e., exhaustion of reserves) and the
likelihood of violence-induced supply limitations. Shortages are
then considered with respect to the carfree initiative. We must
be prepared to respond to the opportunities that arise when shortages
occur, whether temporary or permanent.

This issue includes a Feature Article, "Local Knowledge, Local Solutions,"
by Paul Holdsworth of Living Streets and an opinion piece, "Carfree Zones
vs Carfree Days," by Lela Gary of the Air Pollution Coalition of Ontario.

Also included are News Bits, New Books, and Hot Links.

The next issue is scheduled for January 2004.

Thanks for your continued interest and support.

J.H. Crawford
