Someone suggested fvwm but it would take me years to make that usable then I found fvwm-crystal and WOW it's really awesome AND in Debian! Currently using the Default recipe & rox pinboard but if the pinboard creates problems I do not mind dumping it. I did configure ROX to 'Pass all backdrop mouse clicks to WM' and disabled 'Show Iconified Windows' It's working just as I would like except for a few things, specifically:
How can I have a Window List of all open windows? Ideally it would be mapped to a mouse button on the desktop. I tried adding this to Default recipe: Mouse 2 R A WindowList CurrentDesk, NoGeometry, NoCurrentDeskTitle, Alphabetical But it does not work. I see that you can scroll desktops when cursor is on pager but is it possible with or without rox pinboard to scroll desktops w/ mouse wheel on desktop? AUDACIOUS I use Audacious as my audio player (basically a GTK2 version of XMMS) but it launches w/ window decorations even though I have them disabled in the Audacious preferences. This causes the Audacious Play. EQ & Playlist windows not to stick together. How to disable window decorations for just a specific window or app? I did take a stab at rewriting .fvwm/components/functions/Music-xmms for Audacious (ok well I really just substituted AUDACIOUS for XMMS etc.). I have some of it working like play/stop next/previous but unfortunately audacious does not have xmms-shell equivalent. Has anyone else written a Music-audacious file they would like to share? These requests are a bit less important but would be more what I am accustomed to: Can I....... Shade windows w/ mouse wheel up/down instead of middle click? Lower window w/ middle click?
