I don't see your post before. I am also interested by this issue but I have no
solution at that time.

A fvwm command that would bypass the key bindings with ardour or any other
applications doesn't seem to exist. I may be wrong on that. Maybe a style
option.

A better clue seem to use some function that will do that:

DestroyFunc LaunchArdour
AddToFunc LaunchArdour
+ "I" Key Left          A   CM   -
+ "I" Key Right          A   CM   -
+ "I" Key Up           A   CM   -
+ "I" Key Down         A   CM   -
+ "I" Key M           A   CM   -
+ "I" Key V           A   CM   -
+ "I" Key H           A   CM   - 
...
+ "I" Exec exec ardour

and incorporate it in the menu. I never tryied something like that so I don't
know if it will work. I can try to write something to solve this, but it can
take some time.
