Hello,

I'm an extremely happy fvwm-crystal user since long time, and first of
all I'd want to thank all the authors for their efforts.

I'm currently using fvwm-crystal 3.0.5.dfsg-5 (debian sid box) on top of
fvwm 1:2.5.30.ds-1. Lately I've often been using an external monitor
with xrandr to double my screen space. Something like

$ xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 1920x1080 --pos 1366x0 --right-of LVDS1

Everything works well, but just after the xrandr invocation all the
existing windows get replaced, and I have to manually fix their position
one by one. The same behaviour happens when deactivating the second
monitor.
Not a huge problem, but when you have eight workspaces with a couple
terminal emulators each, manually adjusting all of them can be tedious.

My guess is that the windows position calculation (and refresh) is based
on the entire virtual screen sizes, thus resizing the screen leads to a
window position adjustment.
But I don't know where to act, and how: is there a way to simply tell
the WM to not to move windows in such cases?
Or should I fix the position calculation somewhere?
I've been hacking a bit with the configuration code in the past, but
just for little fixes or personalizations. I'm not a guru, and any hint
would be appreciated.

Thank you.
Ciao.
