I am an old friend of the fvwm... window managers.
I run into the following very odd bug (?)
Linux version 2.6.20.7 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc versión 3.3.5 (Debian
1:3.3.5-13)) #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Apr 24 21:17:54 ART 2007
Compiled kernel from source under debian-sarge-amd64, but the bug also
shows up with the distribution kernel vmlinuz-2.6.8-12-em64t-p4-smp
fvwm --version
fvwm 2.5.12 compiled on Mar 19 2005 at 02:08:59
with support for: ReadLine, RPlay, Stroke, XPM, PNG, Shape, XShm, SM,
Bidi text, Xinerama, XRender, XFT, NLS
I have a change root to a debian-sarge-3.1 system (32bits). It works fine
for most programs (mozilla, openoffice, maple10, ...) BUT if I try to
run firefox (mozilla firefox) in browser mode I get nothing (no error,
no warning, no window). Other windows of firefox such as
-ProfileManager show no problem.
The same experiment done under kde produces the firefox window.
If no window manager is loaded, firefox under the chroot works fine.
Same result under fvwm1
The same experience with nvu (32bits) compiled on site.
I am completely lost on what could be going wrong
