ago?  (I really can't remember).  I can remember though that I did
not apply said patch because it contained some magic information
to detect ARGB visuals.  I tried to confirm that magic with some
third party but never found out anything.

It's not. That patch was for accepting new clients that used ARGB visuals. This patch is in the final state using the XCursor extension to provide support for ARGB cursors through the fvwm cursor styles.


It it's not that patch, can someone find the patch I'm talking
about in the mailing list archives?
