Comply with Debian's hardening rules.
Debian's policy of what's considered "fit for purpos" for inclusion in
its repositoy of packages says that all compiled programs must pass the
following:
CFLAGS="-I/usr/local/include -g -O2 -fstack-protector \
--param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wformat -Werror=format-security" \
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib"
