But I think we should use Strut here as the ewmh working area may be use for the maximizing cmd (and perhaps for the IconBox style). Moreover, I do not see a big difference between (i) use the working area in the placement algo (ii) put an "infinite" penalty for the complement of the working area but the fact that (ii) will not apply for Cascade and Random placement and that (i) is totally trivial to implement (is implemented :o). On the other hands, we may want to add a PlacementPenaltyBox geometry penalty cmd or style, I do not know (nothing precise here).
