I don't know if this is a very useful feature request,
but anyway: Instead of just displaying the window title text,
one could first display it in some dark color, and then
display it again in a lighter color, but shifted one pixel
to the left and one up. This would give a shadow-like
effect like this:

This would look nice when using the built-in motif style
window decorations, which also use shadow/hilight style 
buttons, and probably it's not difficult to implement.
