OK, I am not using Slackware, but neither can I reproduce it, and I can't say I am surprised. There is nothing inherently weird in starting a termina, typing in su and then for it to mangle your bindings. It's -possible- it's something to do with XTerm, such as settings for its resource for thing like: eightBitInput eightBitControl And you perhaps not having set: XTerm*metaSendsEscape: true In your ~/.Xdefaults --- but this would explain really why you see this when you su. -- Thomas Adam
