How do I set my X resolution on startup without editing Xorg.conf? I am running fvwm on its own, rather than on top of Gnome, KDE, or any other desktop. The nice thing about Gnome though is that it will save and restore your X resolution every time you log in, regardless of what's in Xorg.conf.
Not running Gnome, and not having access to modify Xorg.conf, is there any command I can run to set the X resolution when fvwm starts? I do have Gnome installed, so I wouldn't be adverse to running a Gnome command, if necessary. Thanks, Steve
