Not only Xorg > Well, I thought of Xorg because some people are right now experiencing very similar problems, due to the fact that in the modular release is perfectly possible to miss some library. Anyway, if you use XFree86 then that is not your case. Another shot in the dark: maybe the library is not in your LDPATH? You said that error appeared when installing, but what does that mean? Does it mean that you was unable to compile it or are you using some distro installer and the error came from it?
