No, I was comparing the time between 2.2 and 2.4  (2.5 years) with
the time between 2.4 and 2.6 (hopefully < 2 years).

It means that 2.4 development got out of hand and that I want to
retain better control over release dates.  2.3.x was in feature
freeze for about a year.  That must not happen again.
