At
        http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~jtl/RH/FVWM-RPMS/JTL/

you will find some source RPMS that are Red Hat 7 ready, i.e. they work as is
with a standard Red Hat 7 install. I have not tried them with Red Hat 8 yet,
but feel free to try it yourself and let me know.

E.g. obtain:

        http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~jtl/RH/FVWM-RPMS/JTL/fvwm2-2.4.11-1.src.rpm

Then

        rpm -i fvwm2-2.4.11-1.src.rpm
        rpm -ba /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/fvwm2.spec

and, if that succeeds,

        rpm -U /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/fvwm2-*2.4.11*

Good luck!

Best wishes, John Latham
