If anything is mentioned as will be "included" in 3.0 it should be read as ..
it won't be implemented in 2.6.0 ;-)

2.6.0 will be the next stable release.. and was/is expected to be out later this
year.

I think it's a bit too early to have answers for those questions... but
better wait for a developer to respond to that one! (I'm just a bystander!)
