I'd like to execute certain FVWM functions from a script. Is this possible and, if so, how?
Some ideas: * I guess that one could use a program that connects to X and sends key events to FVWM. FVWM then handles these key events according to "~/.fvwm2rc". * Having a way to directly call, say, a function defined in "~/.fvwm2rc" would also be a nice solution, but I've no idea whether it's feasible. * The tool "wmctrl" seems to definetely work, but AFAIK it doesn't allow calling arbitrary functions. As for the functions that I want to trigger: At the moment, only changing of virtual desktops, preferably using special functions that I've put into "~/fvwm2rc". Felix PS: No web forum please (crappy user interface, no offline capabilities, often no threading). -- Felix E. Klee
