With this you can get pretty close: style fvwm_menu nobutton 0, nobutton 2, nobutton 4, nobutton 6, nobutton 8 style fvwm_menu nobutton 1, nobutton 3, nobutton 5, nobutton 7, nobutton 9 style fvwm_menu title, handlewidth 0, borderwidth 0 You'll get menus without borders and title buttons, but with a normal window title replacing the menu title.
