First of all, what is your "system tray area"? Is it another
application? Is it a specific screen area?

Well, aren't you using CascadePlacement to place your window? That
tells Fvwm to place in cascade any window matching the string
"Notification Area". So it definitelly doesn't enforce a fixed
position.

Can you be more specific about what you want to do?
