thanks, thats an idea, but doesnt exec the default action
when clicking on the menu entry in the superior menu,
also double clicking via "Menu ... Exec" as Dominik and Dan proposed
doesnt fulfill this in deeper menu levels yet,
so I still think about patching...
Clicking on the menu entry in the superior menu already has an effect: It
posts the menu. That is prevents it from closing until you have moved the
mouse to it and beck to the parent menu.
